Walk, shop and eat your way around Bangkok.
Silom Walking Street Sunday Market is a delicious tour of Silom Road that takes place every second Sunday from 20 December 2015.
Lanes in both directions of Silom Road, from Sala Daeng intersection down to Naradhiwas Road, will close twice each month beginning December 20 for a vibrant street market which features entertainment and of course, street food.
By sheer fluke, noodlies, Sydney food blog found ourselves stumbling through this Market on Sunday, 27 December 2015.
And it was brilliant.
The majority of stalls were food related, with individual operators as well as some local five star hotels like nearby Dusit Thani. Towards the Sala Daeng intersection there were more clothes and other goods for sale.
According to the Khaosod English, more than 1,700 vendors applied to the Bang Rak district office for one of 200 stalls. Stallholders had to draw lots for permits.
If you’re in Bangkok, the Market is bimonthly on Sundays, 2015: Dec 20, 27, 2016: Jan 10, 24, Feb. 7, 28, March 6, 20, from 3pm – 9pm.
The best way to get there is via BTS: Sala Daeng station or MRT: Silom station.
Take a look at all the delicious street food on offer. Noodlies couldn’t believe the mouthwatering sight; sweet, savoury, tropical fruit and more!
