I’ve heard about crumbed steak with ravioli as topping/sauce and I had to try it! Ian, Walter’s great cousin (long story) is the chef at the Sun Hotel in Townsville and this dish is apparently their specialty. I had to try it.
And, surprisingly it works. The steak is well cooked dry and crispy, which works well with the soft, saucy and deliciously flavoursome ravioli and sauce. In fact, I’d have the ravioli on its own any day. This is real meat lover territory, and the side salad, well, I think it was just there for show, the main game is in the meat and pasta.
And the steak burger was delicious too. The beef is well cooked, good variety of filling, including grated cheese and a light splattering of sauce. The chips were large and thick, just the way I like them.
And of course, washed it all down with good old, cold, Castlemaine, XXXX Gold!
