In the old days each country town produced their own soft drinks like sarsaparilla, creamy soda and of course, cola, etc. But over the years they’ve been bought over by the multinationals and closed down or folded into their roster of brands.
When I saw this Boylan Sugar Cane Cola in an Ingham deli, I had to snap it up. The cap was metal twist top, it had medium fizzy strength with a soft medicinal flavour – a lighter sarsaparilla tang that wasn’t too sweet.
Very refreshing really!
