Top Sydney food blogs
Noodlies’ list of Top Sydney Food Blogs released this week, has generated a fair amount of interest. And quite a bit of feedback. With so many food blogs out there, readers found a ranking system based on estimated traffic interesting especially compared to Urbanspoon’s Leaderboard, which is primarily based on points earned for reviews of more popular restaurants.
Readers asked for two enhancements:
- broadening the list from 68 blogs (now over 300 blogs)
- adding the age of each blog
Readers, as you would appreciate it’s quite a bit of effort to compile the list of blogs and then rank them. That’s why I had to restrict the number of blogs ranked. Finding the age of each blog is even more time consuming as it’s not readily available by visiting the home page of blogs.
However, taking on board the interest and feedback above, noodlies has decided to expand the number of blogs ranked considerably, from the current 68 to over 300 blogs, which are listed below. It had taken a bit of effort, but well worth it. Unfortunately I will not have enough time to include details of the age of each blog.
Noodlies intends to publish the latest rankings by the first week of August (or hopefully earlier – hard to say given it’ll be a big job).
Help make it better!
Dear readers, please review the list and if your Sydney food blog or another food blog is not listed below, please add their name and blog address in the comment section and I’ll update. I’ll include all eligible blogs that’s submitted by Saturday, 20 July 2013, 6pm.
Please share this post so more readers and bloggers can contribute their blogs to the list, thanks.
Updated, 14 July 2013.
you’re a crazy stats man but we love you for it 🙂 Grab Your Fork has one of the best if THE best listing of all blogs and also includes their start date which you want. http://grabyourfork.blogspot.com.au/2009/07/complete-list-of-sydney-food-blogs.html Looking forward to seeing this amazing list. if you want a true popularity counter than you could even include a voting system where the public vote for their favourite blog and only get one vote via an email registration online system. Could be a National Voting System and done once a year of all Australian Food Blogs. Then at the end of it you can announce the most loved food blog in Australia :-). now there’s a challenge for your and a programmer. although i’m pretty sure one of the top 10 most popular stat blogs will win, possibly Not Quite Nigella, as she’s got a huge devoted following and lots of online comment interaction.
Hi Simon, Thanks, I didn’t know about this list, very useful, but it’s all very manual, not sure if I have the time to collate the age of each blog. It will take long enough to get Alexa ranking for 300 blogs one by one 🙂
Thang, you are incredible! This is a huge feat and I think you’re doing an amazing job. If there’s anything else we can all do to help just say the word! 😉
Thanks Tara, everything is set, just let me know if there’s any other Sydney food blogs I’ve missed out on.
Hi Thang! Can I please add my site Erika Rax? URL is http://blog.erikarax.com/
Thanks! You have done such an incredible job on this list 🙂
Added, Erika
Sure no probs 🙂
Whew – what a big job, but very nice work Thang.
Thanks Amanda, took a little work but at least now it’s set up :)… now to get Alexa rankings 🙂

Thanks Annie, it was a bit of work, lol
Wow this is a great list! Thanks heaps for collating it 🙂 !!
Could you please add my blog –> http://foodfortina.blogspot.com.au
As for the age of my blog, my blog started in January 2012 🙂
Thanks heaps!
yep, you’re there Tina
Wow, great work Thang! Maybe you should reconsider a career in marketing/research of some sort 😉 the bloggers list seem to be expanding endlessly and I’m glad to see that you’re considering younger blogs with perhaps not as much exposure but great content as well. Keep up what you’re doing, an inspiration to us all.
On another note, would you also add my blog to the list –> http://www.whatemdid.blogspot.com (June, 2012).
Many thanks.
Sure no probs Emily 🙂
Hey Emily, will add you to the list, just bear in mind some newer blogs might not get an Alexa rank as yet
Of course, that’s very understandable. Good goal to aim for :-)!
Many thanks, again!

Thanks!
Great Vanessa, will add to the list 🙂
What a huge undertaking! My hat goes off to you for embarking on this journey
Nice website mate. Thanks for pulling together such a significant list. love checking out what other food bloggers are up to.
Thanks for the feedback, enjoy checking out the food blogs 🙂
Lots of hard yakka here Thang, well done. You should try to be included in Good Food Month somehow – they’ve extended their event deadline to Friday 26/8. You’d have to dream up an event that incorporates the Food Blogs List though. MORE work!
