With all the hype around Adriano Zumbo and his macaroons etc, I’m sad that I missed the cafe while it was open. With all the craziness of MasterChef etc, I feel like I’ve somehow missed out!
Must, must, must get to his Pâtisserie in Balmain one day.
I’ve visited zumbo in Sydney a cploue of times. Wasn’t thrilled either. There’re a lot of creative sounding elements to equally creative sounding names, but everything i have tried so far taste like one glob of smooth light butter/mousse. The multiple layers of whatever are not distinct in flavour to me. I feel maybe because we have no other benchmark of parisian pastries that everyone swoons over zumbo. :p
